Fitger’s Harvest Fun

Fitger’s events in October provided fun for the whole family, especially on this beautiful Saturday.  Fitger’s Courtyard was abuzz with a Bounce House and a Pumpkin Patch the kids enjoyed.  We also had some Mini horses from the Windchill Legacy R-E-S-P-E-C-T project.  Then the kids dressed up in costumes for Trick-or-Treating at Fitger’s shops.

Essentia Health’s Harvest Walk Run 5k and a Children’s 1k for kids under 14 brought many families out as well.  Runners and walkers boarded a train at Fitger’s and rode it to the 5k race start – people loved riding the train on a crisp autumn morning.  The Tiny Tyke Triathlon for kids ages 3-6 was a great time for the little ones to get into the racing spirit as well!

Adults had lots to do and see as they accompanied their children to these events at Fitger’s – what a fun play date for all!

Book Signing and Poetry Reading

The Bookstore at Fitger’s hosted a book signing for Linda LeGarde Grover – she also read from her book of poems, The Sky Watched:  Poems of Ojibwe Lives.  This event was held at Midi Restaurant – what a great way to spend an evening – poetry, refreshments, snacks and friendship.

Terror Train

Terror Train is an adult costume party that gets everyone into the Halloween spirit.  It starts with a round-trip train ride from Fitger’s to Two Harbors.  Everyone enjoys sipping on beverages and snacking on buck-a-slice pizza and dancing to live band and live DJ music as they wander from car to car.  Dancing continues when everyone disembarks in Two Harbors and makes their way to the American Legion where a live band keeps them moving and grooving!  Once back at Fitger’s, people enjoyed live music at the Brewhouse, Barrel Room, and the Rex.  People have so much fun on this adult train excursion that they try to come back every year!
