The Brewhouse(218) 279-BREW (2739)
The Fitger's Brewhouse Brewery and Grille opened in 1995 after its founders discovered the micro-brew scene when skiing in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado. They felt that the Duluth community could benefit from such an endeavor. Combining the relaxed ambiance of a high mountain brewpub with the pioneering spirit of the original August Fitger Brewery, the Fitger's Brewhouse carries on a tradition of brewing while at the same time serving delicious pub and vegetarian food items and hosting local, regional and national musicians. Between the Brewhouse and the attached nightclub Red Star, there are 16 lines of handcrafted Fitger's Brewhouse Beer featured simultaneously.
Duluth's sole brewpub has earned a loyal following for a number of reasons, not the least of which is its tasty quaffs, which range from English-style ales to oatmeal stouts to dark German lagers. Great food (the kitchen has garnered numerous accolades in regional print) and terrific live music add to the overall appeal, assuring a lively mixed crowd of professionals, bluecollar workers, families and college students at any given time.
