Bock Fest 2017 – March 9-11
Bock Fest ~ Come to Fitger’s Courtyard to experience our German celebration of Spring. Check out our beautiful fire ring while you’re here.
Gather round the campfire and enjoy a legendary Lake Superior Split Rock Bock beer . . . so good . . . be sure to get it “poked” by our friendly fire tenders. Poking your bock beer with a red hot poker fresh out of the camp fire caramelizes it, enhancing the flavor while warming it a bit – once you try it, you’ll be hooked!
Invite your friends and join our 2017 Spring celebration (must be 21 and over to drink beer)
SCHEDULE of EVENTS
March 9, 5 pm – Blessing of the Lake Superior Split Rock Bock Beer, beer tent opens, food & campfire
Start Bock Fest by joining in the traditional procession as they bless the bock beer during a short jaunt along the Lakewalk!
March 10, 5 pm – Beer tent opens, entertainment, food & campfire
Great beer, music, and food – what more can you ask for?
Ah, yes, a campfire to gather round to warm your cold and weary bones.
March 11, Noon – Beer tent opens, food & campfire
Lots of beer, food and music – hopefully the weather will be warm and sunny just like last year!
1 pm – The Bock Hunt – is back!!
Instructions for the Bock Hunt will start at 1 pm sharp – capture the bocks for prizes while you help us usher spring in!!
2 pm – Volksmarch on the Lakewalk
Join in a leisurely walk along the shore of Lake Superior – be sure to dress warm as the winds tend to whip straight off the lake.
3 pm – The Big Dip
Plan to take a quick dip into Lake Superior – brrr, bring some warm clothes or buy one of our sweat shirts.
4 pm – The Stein Race
Definitely a crowd pleaser – sign up and get a prize if you win!
5 pm – Black Forest Torte Eating Contest
Mmmm, sweet – if you compete, be sure to pace yourself.
6 pm – Team Beer Drinking – T-shirts, steins, prizes
Watch the fun as teams try to out drink the others. Luckily for them NA beer is used.
